PHOENIX, AZ August 1, 2001 -- xPackage.Com, Inc today announced a contract licensing agreement with Advanced Package Engineering, Inc (APEI) to implement its Powered by xPackage web-enabling software solution. The software, originally developed and proven by xPackage.Com to drive its own Website for selling packaging materials on the Internet, is an industry-specific Web-based system for expediting industrial packaging communications and transactions between a company, its suppliers, partners, and customers.
APEI's president Mark Wordekemper said, "We are extremely excited about the Powered by xPackage solution. Because it is geared specifically for the packaging industry, and comes with an expert knowledge base, it will allow us to connect with our customers, distributors and suppliers easily, quickly, and accurately." APEI is one of the premier sellers of custom packaging materials locally in Phoenix, AZ and in the U.S.
Founder and CEO of xPackage.Com William Teags said, "The xPackage web-enabling software is designed to provide the packaging industry with the most comprehensive supply chain integration solution on the market today. APEI will definitely have a competitive edge in the e-commerce arena with xPackage."
xPackage.Com will host and operate the software for licensees, including maintaining and upgrading the knowledge base for clients and their customers and suppliers. "One of the big advantages of xPackage over EDI point solutions is that our xPackage solution can service multiple points of connectivity with a single solution," said Teags.
An added feature of xPackage is a customer-oriented design engine that allows end users to build graphical 3D images of custom packaging requirements. "Basically, this means that if a customer does not find the container or package he wants in the catalog, he can use the "design wizard" facility online to build his own, see exactly how it will look, and send the specifications to the supplier for construction," Teags said.
The company will continue to sell packaging materials through its Website, as well as licensing its Powered by xPackage software and services, according to Teags. "Even though companies that sell packaging materials have developed internal computer systems to facilitate business, most do not have online connectivity with customers or suppliers. The Powered by xPackage solution will allow them to bridge that gap."
